When gremlins are around, something always seems to break. The small creatures are feared around the world, not for a danger they represent, but for the chaotic destruction that seems to follow them.
Gremlins are often bright bold and full of character. A gremlin will often go out of its way to aid another even if it not in its interest. Their communities are often large in size and are full of energy and happiness. However even though most gremlins are good natured and happy they care little for laws and rules. This shows itself in their natural desire to disable constructed objects, which often means breaking commoners farming equipment, putting out furnaces, taking the wheels off of wagons, disabling traps and ruining finely crafted objects. However gremlins have also been known to cause far greater problems in society like disabling a high ranking officials constructed bodyguards before a meeting with an evil overlord, or taking apart a whole armor crafting warehouse during a great war. These acts of destruction are what prevent gremlins from making allies among other races.
Gremlins are short in height, standing less than 2 feet tall when fully grown. With a body much like that of a gnome or halfling and a ball shaped head that looks slightly too big for its body and long pointed ears on each side. They usually have a long pointy nose, sometimes bent, large round eyes and a wide mouth with pointy teeth that always seems to be smiling. These traits either make the gremlin look repulsive or strangely cute depending on the community it comes from.
Gremlins eyes are often yellow orange or green. They have very little regard for physical appearance and are often coated in dirt. The males and females only normally wear very basic clothes made of tatty leather. However more rare communities of gremlins are known to wear far nicer clothing, shoes and even hats.
Gremlins weigh about 30 pounds and reach maturity at the age of 11 and often only live to a maximum age of 50.
Gremlins have little organized religion. If anything, they revel in the chaos and enjoyment they can get out of life
Gremlins do have their own language, simply called Gremlin. They normally speak in common.
While the majority of gremlins care for nothing more than simple pleasures, a few do occasional seek adventures. When asked, the primary motivation for them is “Fun.”.
